Course Overview

Part 1 - Movement & Dynamics

In Part 1, Kyle helps you master movement, body control, and the four dials of Dynamics - fluidity, resistance, space, and energy. You’ll practice through grooves and exercises, and then apply what you learn to your first dance combo of the class.

Part 2 - Intention & Emotion

In Part 2, Kyle teaches you how to embody intention, convey emotion, and tell stories with your dancing, using facial expressions, body language, and choices as a dancer. You’ll learn and perform a second dance combo, practicing what you learn.

Part 3 - Developing Your Style

In Part 3, Kyle guides you through his systematic process for developing your own unique style as a dancer. You’ll finish the class with a third dance performance that showcases your unique style and incorporates everything you’ve learned in class.

During class, you’ll learn within an intimate peer group of 20 other dancers from around the world. Throughout the class, you’ll share your ongoing work, give and receive feedback, and ask and answer questions. Kyle will be in the peer groups looking at some work and may occasionally answer questions and give feedback.
